Maintenance includes technical work that supports the agreed operation, compatibility, and security of a system.
What do updates mean?
Updates may affect dependencies, platform changes, bug fixes, or security-related adjustments. Not every external update can be adopted without additional changes.
Maintenance or new feature?
Technical maintenance preserves an agreed feature. New features, larger redesigns, or new integrations are extensions and may be offered separately.
Managed/SaaS and buyout
For managed/SaaS services, maintenance and updates may be part of the monthly service depending on the package. For buyouts, later work is generally separate unless otherwise agreed.
